COBB-MARIETTA COLISEUM & EXHIBIT HALL AUTHORITY WINS FINANCIAL REPORTING AWARD
ATLANTA – For the 26th consecutive year, the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The Authority, which governs Cobb Galleria Centre, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, ArtsBridge Foundation and Galleria Specialty Shops, won the award for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). According to GFOA, the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The GFOA is a major professional association serving approximately 21,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and other finance practitioners. GOA is headquartered in Chicago with offices in Washington, D.C.

The Cobb-Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority owns and operates the Cobb Galleria Centre, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, ArtsBridge Foundation and Galleria Specialty Shops and is governed by seven members, appointed to seven posts. The Authority is a body corporate and politic created by the Georgia General Assembly in 1980 for the purpose of acquiring, constructing and maintaining facilities for the general purpose of promoting cultural growth, education and welfare.
