Over the course of her 20 years working in Human Resources at the Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Lorena Dominguez has seen a lot of change. One thing that hasn’t changed is her intangible gift as a counselor to many of the Centres’ employees.

Dominguez, recently promoted to Human Resources Manager, has a calm demeanor and does more listening than talking. This makes her a go-to person for many employees who have questions, HR-related or not. “I enjoy talking with staff,” she said. “It’s very interesting learning about their hobbies, likes, and lives outside of work.”

Dominguez began her tenure at Cobb Galleria Centre as an HR Coordinator, and in 2007 she was given the opportunity to be part of the opening team at Cobb Energy Centre supervising HR operations. Now as HR Manager, Dominguez oversees the day-to-day operations of the department for both venues as well as payroll processing. Her Spanish-language skills are also essential to communicating with her Spanish-speaking colleagues.

Born in California, Dominguez moved to Georgia as a child and graduated from high school in Cobb County. Prior to joining the Centre, she worked in human resources for several other companies.

Dominguez lives in Kennesaw with her husband and has one daughter, age 20. She comes from a big family and has a twin sister. When she’s not at work, Dominguez enjoys volunteering in the community and has completed Cobb County’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training.
