The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has resulted in several shifts in everyone’s daily lives. Amidst the outbreak, numerous companies and charitable organizations – including several of our clients – are coming together to help relieve the stress many people may be experiencing.

The Cobb Chamber of Commerce created Operation Meal Plan in partnership with Cobb Community Foundation, the Center for Family Resources, and local non-profits to provide food to those in need, help local restaurants keep workers employed and provide vehicles for citizens to help. Individuals can make donations through the Cobb Community Foundation. To donate click here. If you are a restaurant interested in participating, contact Nate Futrell at For non-profits that need food, please contact Melanie Kagan with the Center for Family Resources at

The Cobb Community Foundation has also established the Cobb COVID-19 Community Response Fund as a vehicle to support non-profit organizations serving Cobb as they respond to the spread of the novel coronavirus.  Contributions to this fund will be distributed swiftly as needs arise.  CCF has intentionally established this fund with flexibility in mind to ensure that these resources may support communities as conditions, circumstances, and needs change throughout this crisis.  The fund is available now to receive contributions. Instructions to non-profits for grant requests will be posted shortly.

The YMCA is continuing to be a service in the community of Atlanta and neighboring counties. Staff and volunteers have helped to ensure food security to schools, senior centers, and residents throughout the city. They have been able to provide almost over 1,000 families with food. The YMCA is providing emergency childcare for all of metro Atlanta to help those who are front line workers during the outbreak, including grocery store and warehouse employees.

We continue to thank all those who are serving their communities during this time and look forward to when we can have you in the building again. If you are helping others get through this crisis and would like us to share it, please leave a comment.
