Apolinar Mojica and his colleagues in the Stewarding Department may not be visible to clients and guests, but they are the unsung heroes in executing successful events. Mojica, the Stewarding Supervisor, has worked at Cobb Galleria Centre for 17 years. A native of Guerro, Mexico, he moved to Atlanta 25 years ago. Mojica’s job entails supervising six stewards on the second shift, making sure all of the equipment is clean and ready for kitchen and banquet staff use, and delivering all of the food to various rooms in the venue. What many people may not know is that the Stewarding Department is the last to leave the building following a food function, as they need to make sure the kitchen and all equipment are clean for the next day.

“The main reason I have worked here so long is because of the good relationships I have with the managers and my co-workers,” Mojica said. “I’ve been treated with a lot of respect. As long as I keep healthy I will continue working for this lovely place.”

When Mojica is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, three sons and four grandchildren. One of his sons, Juan, also works at Cobb Galleria Centre in the Public Safety Department.
