Build Expo USA, the largest regional building and construction show producer in the United States, was the first event at Cobb Galleria Centre after reopening in July.

“To call it challenging would be a huge understatement,” said Tyler Bryant, Vice President of Build Expo USA. “First, we knew we had to prepare for the show to go on even though we had no control of whether it did or not. There are great expenses required to produce a show, and considering the pre-show marketing we do, we knew that there was a chance that the show would be postponed.”
When the state of Georgia allowed the operation of convention centers to resume on July 1, Build Expo USA was a go.
“We’re thankful that the Cobb Galleria Centre understood the importance of getting back to work while being as mindful as possible of creating a safe environment,” Bryant said.
Another challenge Build Expo faced was ensuring that exhibitors and attendees understood the comprehensive health and safety plan put in place by Build Expo and the Centre.
“We absolutely consider (the event) a success,” Bryant said. “First, we completed a very healthy and safe event. Neither our staff nor any of our customers at the show became ill. Our procedures worked as well as we hoped they would.”
Bryant and his team believe strongly in the importance of face-to-face events and that nothing can replace the value of speaking with someone in person and being able to see, touch, and feel products and equipment. “We proved it can be done, and we encourage all show producers and venues to open up and get back to work,” Bryant said.
The next Build Expo USA at the Cobb Galleria Centre is scheduled for July 21-22, 2021. For more information, visit buildexpousa.com.
