Having a cocktail party in August? Here’s a great cocktail to relieve the heat during the dog days of summer!

Grown-Up Lemonade:

Here’s what you need:

½ cup sugar
½ cup water
½ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
Ice
¾ cup bourbon
Club Soda

Start by making your simple syrup – measure ½ cup of sugar and ½ cup of water in a small saucepan, bring to a boil until sugar dissolves, then take off the heat and allow it to cool. Then add ½ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice and stir well. Fill a pitcher with crushed ice, and add ¾ cup of your favorite bourbon. Add the lemonade then fill to the top of the pitcher with club soda. Slice a lemon into rounds and float on the top. For lower calories and carbs, I substitute 3 ½ tablespoons of Stevia for the sugar. Enjoy!
