Marty Taylor enjoys the unpredictable nature of his job as Show Services Supervisor in the Engineering Department.

Taylor spent the early part of his childhood living in a small town outside of Stuttgart, Germany and moved to the U.S. when he was 10 years old. Taylor previously worked as a stage manager in Ohio where he did stage rigging and set design before moving to Atlanta in August of 2011. He continued his career in stage setup at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, and a year later Taylor was sent to the Cobb Galleria Centre to provide additional assistance for The Atlanta Shoe Market. Soon thereafter, he was rewarded with a full-time position at the Centre.

“There’s a good variety of things we get to do here with different events and tasks,” Taylor said, as he listed several different aspects of his job including working on electricity, water, air conditioning and other maintenance duties.

Taylor lives in Marietta and has three children: a middle school language arts and science teacher who lives in Florida; an assistant orientation director for Ohio University in Athens, Ohio; and a Kennesaw State University student majoring in hospitality management. Taylor’s first grandchild, Alexa, was born in April.
