Atlanta’s top business and community leaders come together each December at the Cobb Galleria Centre to celebrate the success of Scouting and pledge to support its future. Th 2018 Golden Eagle Luncheon, presented by the Atlanta Area Council of Boy Scouts of America, features a keynote address by Dan Cathy, Chief Executive Officer of Chick-Fil-A, Inc. The Golden Eagle Luncheon is the kick-off fundraising event for the 2019 Friends of Scouting Campaign.

The Boy Scouts have held the Golden Eagle Luncheon at Cobb Galleria Centre every year since 2013, and the event has grown from 800 attendees to this year’s expected attendance of 2,000 people. The Centre’s flexible space options have allowed the event to grow in-house, from the John A. Williams Ballroom to an exhibition hall.

“Cobb Galleria Centre is an excellent place for all of our guests, especially as we continue to grow, to be able to come together in a central location,” said Jenna Knight, Director of Development and Marketing. “Our programs reach new families each and every year. The community wants to support our youth and future leaders and are passionate about doing so.”

In past years, keynote speakers have included high profile names including Randall Stephenson, Chairman and CEO of AT&T; former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, when he was Chairman and CEO of Exxonmobil; and Dr. Robert Gates, former Secretary of Defense, former Director of the CIA and past National President of the Boy Scouts of America.
