The Atlanta Home Show, which takes place twice a year at the Cobb Galleria Centre, has been purchased by Marketplace Events, the largest producer of business-to-consumer home shows in North America.

The Spring Atlanta Home Show and the Fall Atlanta Home Show & Outdoor Living Expo are synonymous with Cobb Galleria Centre and Atlanta-based SEMCO Productions, which had produced the Atlanta Home Show for almost half a century.

“It is only fitting for Marketplace Events to produce shows in Atlanta, one of the largest metropolitan cities in the U.S.,” said Mark Levine, Show Manager at Marketplace Events. “We are excited about the future of these shows and their potential in this market, which is booming. Home shows are our passion and our business. We are delighted to be working with so many strong partners in Atlanta, and we are looking forward to growing these shows in size and scope in the coming years.”

The fall show, held Sept. 7-9, featured celebrity carpenter Brett Tutor from TLC’s Trading Spaces, who appeared all three days of the show. In addition, on “Hero Day” all active military personnel, veterans, police, fire and first responders received free admission.

The acquisition of the shows elevates the Marketplace Events portfolio to 64 events in 29 markets including 39 U.S. home shows, 16 Canadian home shows and nine holiday shows, which combined attract 20,000 exhibitors, 1.8 million attendees and three million unique web visitors annually.
