Concessions Manager Maher Abdelwahab isn’t just an expert in concessions. His versatility working in the kitchen, beverage department and banquets has provided invaluable service to both Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre for the past 15 years.

As concessions manager, Abdelwahab’s job consists of providing quality food and service in the exhibition hall concession stands while managing expenses as well as training and scheduling staff. He is particularly proud of the collaboration among staff across several departments, especially Controller Greg Evans who provides leadership for payment processing.

“I love working here, and I love the people I work with,” he said.

Born to Palestinian parents in Lebanon, Abdelwahab moved to the Atlanta area in 1990 and attended Georgia State University to study business. He previously worked at the Westin Peachtree and Metrotainment Café before owning his own restaurant in Dalton.

A Cobb County resident, Abdelwahab is marred with five children. When he is not at Cobb Galleria Centre, he enjoys working on home renovation projects with co-worker Bassem Maarouf.
