Weekly Events Calendar: May 6 – May 12, 2019

Monday, May 6, 2019: As part of a long-standing tradition, the Cobb Chamber will name the 2019 Small Business of the Year and award the Top 25 Small Businesses of the Year at the May Awards Breakfast, recognizing the important role that small businesses play in the Cobb community and its economy.

They will also be recognizing successful start-ups with the 2019 Businesses to Watch Award. While not eligible for Small Business of the Year, these companies are on the rise—achieving incredible growth while launching just three years ago or less. Also, The Service Fort, the 2018 Small Business of the Year, will be inducted into the Small Business Hall of Fame, joining an elite list of winners spanning over 30 years.

Also at the breakfast, attendees will hear from Bruce LeVell of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Bruce is the Regional Advocate for Region IV serving eight southeastern states for the U.S. Small Business Administration. Bruce will discuss the continued challenges small businesses are facing and the work he is doing to enhance the business climate.

Tuesday, May 7, 2019: The Atlanta Journal Constitution will be hosting the Nurses Awards luncheon. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Program begins at noon.

Thursday, May 9, 2019: Do you think you have the skills to impress future employers? If yes, come out to the Veteran Career Fair & Diversity Job Expo and meet over 30 HR Managers hiring over 500 positions. All candidates must Register and post your resume on-line to attend the event. You will receive a confirmation email. Print the confirmation email and bring for entrance to the job fair. Candidates should come to the Hiring Event dressed interview appropriate with resume, prepared to speak directly with Hiring personnel. The Job Fair is FREE and Open to the Public! $25.00 Gas card will go to the 250th person who arrives at the fair.
